My attitude to Sunn O))) is a bit like that I have with Swans. They are so over-the-top that although I genuinely enjoy and appreciate the music, they do make me laugh as well. I think that you’d have to be so seriously po-faced, miserable and quite frankly, bonkers to take it all at face value. The second track on this album is “Big Church [Megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért]”. Are they kidding me? It has taken me about 5 minutes just to type the title and the spell check is still saying it’s wrong. In the Venn diagram comprised of Microsoft Word and Sunn O))) I don’t think that there is much overlapping.
